Pickup events reward patience more than constant big rolls. The icons move after you collect them, so yesterday's favourite stretch of the board means nothing today. If you're also working through a Monopoly Go Partners Event, check both sets of rewards before spending heavily. A stretch with pickups, partner tokens and a railroad nearby gives you more useful landing spots than one lonely icon. You'll still miss sometimes. That's dice for you. The aim is to make each expensive roll worth considering, not to force a particular result.

Look for a useful stretch

Before increasing your multiplier, count the spaces ahead. Two or three pickups close together are generally more appealing than a single target. With two standard dice, seven is the most likely total, so a cluster around six to eight spaces away deserves attention. It isn't a promise. Nearby railroads add another possible reward through the active tournament, while Chance might send you somewhere useful. Shield spaces can also soften the cost when your shields are full and the dice spent on that landing are returned. Check the whole stretch, not just one square.

Keep the scoring straight

Each pickup is worth two base points, multiplied by your roll setting. At x10, that's 20 points. At x20, it's 40, not 80. At x100, it's 200. Nearby icons don't combine into one payout; you collect the pickup you actually land on. Once collected, that icon relocates, while the others remain where they were. This matters because one successful landing can break up a useful cluster or create another one elsewhere. Take another look before rolling again. The multiplier that made sense a moment ago might now be a poor fit.

Spend less when there's little to hit

Scattered pickups aren't a reason to chase harder. Drop your multiplier and keep moving until a better opportunity appears. Manual rolls make these decisions easier, though automatic rolling can suit someone who values convenience over careful dice use. High Roller raises the spending ceiling; it doesn't improve your landing odds. Use it cautiously. Cash Boost helps with cash collection, while upgrade discounts serve a different goal. Don't spend extra dice just because several timed bonuses happen to overlap. Check whether the next milestone reward is worth the likely cost, too.

Leave room for your other goals

A pickup event doesn't need your entire dice supply. Tournament rewards, partner progress and sticker collections all compete for the same resources. Players comparing cheapest Monopoly Go Stickers options should keep that separate from their rolling budget rather than expecting event rewards to complete an album. Set a stopping point before you start. When the next milestone looks expensive, saving dice for another session is a reasonable choice.
